The Semantics of Passion

Thinking about queasiness re using the word "passion", what about using instead the term "project". So we could have the Kids Project, the Early Years Project, the Teen Project, the Newcomers Project, etc.

The big customer-segment-based Projects - Kids, Teens, Adult - could be led by the Coordinator/Advocate position as outlined in our Draft Recommendation.

The other Projects or sub-Projects could have a Project Leader and Project Team, organized around a passion-based commitment to lead initiatives in their chosen Project area, e.g. a Newcomer Project, a Customer Service Project.

Thinking of our services in terms of projects implies:
  • Our services are ever-evolving - each project leads to the next phase, based on whatever the trends , strategic goals and customer needs may become over time.
  • Project leadership and responsibility can also evolve and rotate among staff.

Your thoughts?

Hi, Caffelatte!

I think some of the projects will become mini projects or smaller focused depending on the individual.
No one person could cover customer service. This duty will have to fall to many groups.

My interest/passion or project would be customer service but through virtual service like blogs, im, chat book groups, askmpl, etc.

My concern is that I have passion for different things but when will I have the time. Anything away from customer service at the desk is stolen moments.

Completing askmpl questions on the desk is very difficult. You are trying to write a response correctly and accurately while still serving customers.

Hi,

I have another comment. Don't get bogged down in the word, passion, project, interest.
Just enjoy the discussion and the enthusiasm that happens out of this event.

I feel like we are going down a road together with this venture and we will all find our own path.

I am wondering about what tools and support I am going to be given on "my walk".

I also wonder am I going to be allowed to hike on my own or will I have follow the leader?

We are proposing that a project management methodology be applied to all projects - involving mission definition, goals and action plans, targets and measures, etc. See the minutes for ispressotogo Jan 11.
