Try IM, Try Meebo

Hello All,

I tried some of the IM clients listed in Stephen Abram's article.

FYI. Meebo is the one that does NOT require any downloading, and most importantly, we can use it on our staff computers.

Meebo allows me to use my MSN messenger. Add me to your buddy list. :D
My "name" is wendytmpl
Tell me yours too!

Look at these links too if you are interested in IM Reference.
Who knows... maybe we can offer this service at MPL in the near future.

Do you think we can tie this into the concept of "floating librarians"??
It's one of my Library "passions". Anyone wants to join me?
I sometimes feel reluntant because I am not a member of the E-services group.

Anyways, let's have some fun.

Wendy

Bloglines

Hi all:

At AG we've tried bloglines as a way to keep track of all the blogs one is currently reviewing.
Not sure if it's at all useful to anyone but me...
Anyway Bloglines - www.bloglines.com- is a way to keep track of all your blog feeds in one place.
You simply create a password and user name and then start saving all the URLs of the blogs you look at.
Each blog title will display a number beside it which shows the number of new posts. This is convenient as no numbers = no new posts and then you don't need to bother checking the blog.

Additionally you can save any RSS feeds to your feed list. E.g. I saved the CBC news rss to get newsfeeds.
If you have any questions just let me know - or post them up here.
Again - www.bloglines.com

bye for now

Google wants your info!

Hi all:

this is not about ISR particularly- but what's a blog without a little fun?

So who's the mysterious Bunnykins?

I feel so unoriginal just using my name!
Also I'd like to add that Google is taking over the world. I tried to log in as an editor with my original Blogspot user name and password - but Google is now running this shop and wanting a new username and password to get my info!!!!! ;) HMMMM do we see the EPIC search engine and owner of all information in the future?
Sorry this isn't constructive. Maybe it is for those who have a blogger user name and password and aren't getting in!
Did you have the same experience?
bye for now
Meg
